Understanding History and Power to Address Sexual Violence

In this free Culture of Respect - Collective workshop, Dr. Chris Linder will explore historical roots of sexual violence in the U.S., and connect that history to current social, cultural, structural, and power dynamics operating on college campuses. Using a power-conscious framework, participants will identify strategies to effectively address campus sexual violence that include shifting attention to the people who cause harm, identifying harmful behaviors, and developing strategies to prevent them.

CPE Cohort

Any student can become CPE Trained! Enroll your student into a CPE Cohort, priced at $109 per student, with a reduced rate of $89 per student for NASPA Institutional members. Students can register for the cohort themselves or have their advisors register them using the 'register colleague' option (students will need to first create a NAPSA account and select their institution).

Students will go through the CPE training over three weeks. Each week will consist of videos, reflection questions, discussion posts, and quizzes; these are all asynchronous and can be completed on a student's individual schedule.

CPE Train-the-Trainer

Campus staff members that work with peer educators can become a CPE Trainer. The CPE Train-the-Trainer course enables advisors to facilitate the CPE curriculum to their students, leading them through the training and certifying them upon passing the CPE Certifying Exam.

If you'd like to learn more about your CPE training options, the shift to the CPE Cohort, or any other inquiries, reach out by emailing CPE@NASPA.org. You can learn more and stay up to date with all CPE news by visiting our webpage: https://naspa.org/cpe
